This is a very nice quality miniature example of Yabu Meizan, exhibiting almost gem-like qualities. The front panel has a motif of children playing games and receiving lessons, while the reverse panel depicts the serenity of a simple iris plant. The balance of the vase is full decorated with profuse floral designs in gilt and enamel. The underside bears the seal of Yabu Meizan. The condition is excellent with no wear or restoration and it measures 3.4" x 1.4". It dates about 1900 - 1915.

A wonderful four panel, cobalt ground koro with each panel showing garden scenes. The cover has a sculpted floral form finial. The underside shows the Kinkozan seal in gilt. It measures 5.5" x 5.75" and dates about 1900. The condition is excellent.

This is a nicely decorated vase with a 19th century gardening scene and a group of bijins and their children in a garden. There are finely detailed floral reserves over an attractive teal ground. It is in good condition, save some expected surface gilt wear as seen in the images. It measures 4.75" x 3.5" and dates about 1900 - 1910. There is an impressed Kinkozan zo seal on the underside.

The panels on this vase alternate between hoho bird and dragon motifs, a representation of marital bliss. All of the gilt and enamel work was executed with fine detail and the vase is in excellent condition, without restoration. It measures 12" x 7.5" and dates about 1880.

The cover of this box shows a nicely decorated scene with samurai heading into battle. The interior scene contrasts the battle with depictions of geisha of children enjoying the cherry blossoms. It is signed Houzan on the underside and the dimensions are 4.6" x 3.25" x 1.5". The condition is very good, save some minor surface losses on the interior rim of the cover.

The mottled pink ground color on this Kinkozan vase is one of the more unusual colors we have seen used. The gilt on the elegantly intertwined dragons is beautifully applied and is entirely intact, with no wear visible. Other than some very minor wear on the lip, the condition is excellent. The dimensions are 5.9" x 2.2" and it dates about 1900 - 1910.

The central theme of this charger is a celebration of Boys Day. There are a plethora of children engaged in many different games and activities. There is some mild handling wear to the gilt and numerous minor original defects to the surface on the reverse side, but the overall condition and presentation are excellent. This urn is a rare form by Yabu and is finely decorated with a continuous daimyo procession that follows entirely around the body. The enameled floral designs and finial sculpting are executed in excellent detail. One of the handles has been restored and can be seen upon close inspection of the images. However, it is not noticeable without a good amount of scrutiny and does not impact the body of the piece at all. We have priced this item accordingly...

This desirable form is decorated with eight scenic medallions on the exterior and single landscape scene inside. The rim and base are geometric brocade designs done in gilt and enamel. The bowl bears the mark of Meizan in gilt application on the underside. The dimensions are 3.5" x 4.9" and it dates about 1880 - 90. The condition is excellent.
