The cover of this is heavily decorated with a springtime scene of birds and flowers. The outer walls with sparse enameled mums and wire vines. The interior with impressed of Mt. Fuji, a temple and lakeside. It measures 3.6" x 3.25" x 1.75" and dates about 1900 - 1910. Condition is very good.

This floral form bowl is beautifully decorated with a nature scene depicting ducks in flight as they approach a small pond. Surrounding the scene are floral and foliate reserves over a cobalt ground. The underside bears a gilt seal of the Kinkozan studio. The condition is excellent, with not restorations and only some minor gilt wear. It measures 7.25" x 2.75" and dates about 1900 - 1910.

This elegantly decorated tray is featured on page 55 of Louis Lawrence's book, Satsuma: The Romance of Japan. It depicts a springtime scene of young girls at play with their mothers. The overall condition is excellent, less a tiny 2 mm flea bite on the upper right corner. It measures 5.6" x 4.5" and dates about 1900.

This is a finely detailed example of Japanese Satsuma earthenware, attributed to the Kinkozan studio. Each panel was decorated with painstaking detail and the reserves show equal attention to detail. Other than some very slight handling wear on the rim, the vase is in excellent condition and dates about 1900 - 1910. It measures 7" x 4".

This lovely miniature bowl is in pristine condition, with no repairs, restorations or retouching of the gilt work. The exterior is decorated with children engaged in a variety of pursuits, including a wonderful scene in which they are watching an artist paint. The interior shows loosely scattered butterflies in the center, surrounded by finely enameled draping wisteria. It measures 2 5/8" across by 1 3/4" in height and dates about 1900 - 1910.

This is a fine example from the Kinkozan studio, showing two scenes over a cobalt ground with beautiful gilt reserves. Each scene is carefully enameled in vibrant colors. Gold stippling is used masterfully in the scenes to add tone to the sky in the backgrounds. The shoulder of the vase has sculpted chrysanthemums highlighted in gold. The condition is nearly perfect and it dates about 1900 - 1910. It measures 6.25" x 4".

The artwork is quite fine on this vase and the gold is applied in classic Meizan style, as are the geometric reserves. However, it is signed Juzan. The condition is perfect with no visible signs of wear and no restorations. The dimensions are 6.5" x 3.5" and it dates near 1880.

This delicately painted four panel koro has alternating scenes that contrast between figural motifs and nature motifs. The top has intense floral designs with heart shaped vents and a chrysanthemum form finial. It measures 3.5" x 2.4" and the condition is excellent. It dates about 1900 - 1910.

The panels on this vase alternate between hoho bird and dragon motifs, a representation of marital bliss. All of the gilt and enamel work was executed with fine detail and the vase is in excellent condition, without restoration. It measures 12" x 7.5" and dates about 1880.

This a beautiful cubicle box and probably one of the smallest pieces by Ryozan that we have offered. It is a gem, in excellent condition with the only visible wear being on the underside seal. This was likely the result of the a price tag applied over the mark. It measures 2.25" in height x 2.50 diagonally across. On the underside there is a the seal of Ryozan and the Yasuda studio. Circa is about 1900.

This footed tray is beautifully decorated using the ginbari foil cloisonne technique. The color combination contrasts very nicely. The condition is excellent with only some minor original surface pitting. It measures 7 1/3" x 4 7/8" x 5/8". It dates early 20th century, about 1910.

This pretty plaque measures 14" x 10" including the frame and the frame border is 1.5". We have not unscrewed the wooden mounts in the back to see if it is signed. There are some surface scratches and original pitting, but there does not appear to be any chips in the enamel. This item dates about 1920.
