A wonderful four panel, cobalt ground koro with each panel showing garden scenes. The cover has a sculpted floral form finial. The underside shows the Kinkozan seal in gilt. It measures 5.5" x 5.75" and dates about 1900. The condition is excellent.

This desirable form is decorated with eight scenic medallions on the exterior and single landscape scene inside. The rim and base are geometric brocade designs done in gilt and enamel. The bowl bears the mark of Meizan in gilt application on the underside. The dimensions are 3.5" x 4.9" and it dates about 1880 - 90. The condition is excellent.

This vase has the interesting combination of a cobalt ground on the neck and a teal ground on the body, divided by a draped shoulder. One panel depicts the Boys Day Festival and the other shows Chinese beauties in full attire. This item was formerly of the Walter and Edith Haas collection. It measures 8.5" x 7", dates about 1900 and bears a Kinkozan zo impressed seal. No chips or restoration.

This pair of 8" diameter plates are decorated with more restraint than is typically seen on Satsuma earthenware. Both are free from restoration or breaks and date about 1910 - 1920. They bear the seals of Senzan and Shozan on the underside.

A rectangular form tray with a cloisonne enamel scene of geese and flowers framed with a porcelain border decorated with sparrows. There are a few very small flecks in the cloisonne portion and some glaze imperfections in the border. It measures 15.5" x 11.75" and dates about 1890. It is signed Takeuchi Chubei on the reverse side.

This an elegantly formed Meiji Period pair of flared mouth Japanese cloisonne vases with chrysanthemum designs over a deep teal ground. The overall condition is good and they measure 7.25" x 3.25". There is a 1/3" long nick in the enamel which can be seen in the images, as well original pitting. The mark on the underside appears to be that of Tamura.

The elephant motif on this finely decorated, unusually formed plate was likely inspired by a similar decoration used by Yabu Meizan. The condition is excellent with only some light wear to the rim. It measures 8.75" x 8.25" and bears the the Yasuda studio mark, along with a Kanzan mark seal in gilt on the reverse side. This item is Meiji Period and dates about 1900 - 1910.

This plate is an example of Kinkozan's work on porcelain and does not exhibit the crazing that is associated with Satsuma. The scene depicts early autumn in a rural village with the maple leaves just beginning to change color. The condition is very good with little handling wear and no restorations. The reverse side bears an impressed Kinkozan zo mark and a Kinkozan gilt seal. It dates about 1900 - 1910.

This is a highly unusual example of cloisonne with applied silver overlay. The silver is decorated with subtle chase work, adding an elegant touch to this interesting piece. This lovely miniature bowl is in pristine condition, with no repairs, restorations or retouching of the gilt work. The exterior is decorated with children engaged in a variety of pursuits, including a wonderful scene in which they are watching an artist paint. This is a fine example from the Kinkozan studio, showing two scenes over a cobalt ground with beautiful gilt reserves. Each scene is carefully enameled in vibrant colors. Gold stippling is used masterfully in the scenes to add tone to the sky in the backgrounds. The shoulder of the vase has sculpted chrysanthemums highlighted in gold. The condition is nearly perfect and it dates about 1900 - 1910. It measures 6.25" x 4".
