This is an unusual squat form urn by Yabu Meizan, done entirely in Tiffany blue. It sit elegantly on three legs and is in excellent condition, although I'm suspect as to the cover's originality. It measures 5" in diameter x 3" in height, inclusive of the cover and bears the seal of Yabu Meizan in gilt on the underside. It dates about 1910 - 1920.

This is a wonderful little ewer decorated with four well detailed panels surrounded by geometric gilt reserves. It bears the gilt seal of Seikozan on the underside. There is some staining near the bottom as it appears that it was once glued to a stand, but there is no evidence of breakage any place on the piece. It measures 3.75" in height x 3.5" in width (inclusive of spout and handle). Circa 1890.

This is a beautifully decorated Seikozan vase with a continuous village scene around the core and intense, thickly enameled floral designs on either side of the center. The interior of the mouth is decorated with assorted geometric and floral patterns. The condition is excellent with no signs of wear or other issues. It measures 5.8" H x 5.9" W at the mouth and dates about 1890.

This is a nicely decorated vase with a 19th century gardening scene and a group of bijins and their children in a garden. There are finely detailed floral reserves over an attractive teal ground. It is in good condition, save some expected surface gilt wear as seen in the images. It measures 4.75" x 3.5" and dates about 1900 - 1910. There is an impressed Kinkozan zo seal on the underside.

The panels on this vase alternate between hoho bird and dragon motifs, a representation of marital bliss. All of the gilt and enamel work was executed with fine detail and the vase is in excellent condition, without restoration. It measures 12" x 7.5" and dates about 1880.

This delicately painted four panel koro has alternating scenes that contrast between figural motifs and nature motifs. The top has intense floral designs with heart shaped vents and a chrysanthemum form finial. It measures 3.5" x 2.4" and the condition is excellent. It dates about 1900 - 1910.

This is one of the largest versions of Kinkozan's mottled glaze style that we have seen and the only one that combines it with a tree bark colored neck.The body is decorated with assorted floral designs in gilt. It measures 12" in height x 6.25" at the widest point on the body. The condition is excellent and it dates about 1900 - 1915.

This early Meizan bowl has near 100% coverage with a plethora of different scenes and subjects, all beautifully executed. This lovely miniature bowl is in pristine condition, with no repairs, restorations or retouching of the gilt work. The exterior is decorated with children engaged in a variety of pursuits, including a wonderful scene in which they are watching an artist paint. The interior shows loosely scattered butterflies in the center, surrounded by finely enameled draping wisteria. It measures 2 5/8" across by 1 3/4" in height and dates about 1900 - 1910.

This desirable form is decorated with eight scenic medallions on the exterior and single landscape scene inside. The rim and base are geometric brocade designs done in gilt and enamel. The bowl bears the mark of Meizan in gilt application on the underside. The dimensions are 3.5" x 4.9" and it dates about 1880 - 90. The condition is excellent.

The artwork is quite fine on this vase and the gold is applied in classic Meizan style, as are the geometric reserves. However, it is signed Juzan. The condition is perfect with no visible signs of wear and no restorations. The dimensions are 6.5" x 3.5" and it dates near 1880.

This elegantly decorated tray is featured on page 55 of Louis Lawrence's book, Satsuma: The Romance of Japan. It depicts a springtime scene of young girls at play with their mothers. The overall condition is excellent, less a tiny 2 mm flea bite on the upper right corner. It measures 5.6" x 4.5" and dates about 1900.

This is a fine example from the Kinkozan studio, showing two scenes over a cobalt ground with beautiful gilt reserves. Each scene is carefully enameled in vibrant colors. Gold stippling is used masterfully in the scenes to add tone to the sky in the backgrounds. The shoulder of the vase has sculpted chrysanthemums highlighted in gold. The condition is nearly perfect and it dates about 1900 - 1910. It measures 6.25" x 4".

This is a very nice quality miniature example of Yabu Meizan, exhibiting almost gem-like qualities. The front panel has a motif of children playing games and receiving lessons, while the reverse panel depicts the serenity of a simple iris plant. The balance of the vase is full decorated with profuse floral designs in gilt and enamel. The underside bears the seal of Yabu Meizan. The condition is excellent with no wear or restoration and it measures 3.4" x 1.4". It dates about 1900 - 1915.

This vase has the interesting combination of a cobalt ground on the neck and a teal ground on the body, divided by a draped shoulder. One panel depicts the Boys Day Festival and the other shows Chinese beauties in full attire. This item was formerly of the Walter and Edith Haas collection. It measures 8.5" x 7", dates about 1900 and bears a Kinkozan zo impressed seal. No chips or restoration.
